This morning the National Caves Festival has started by the vice-president of the Municipality of Kardzhali, Elisaveta Kehayova, and the president of the Bulgaria Speleology Federation, Aleksey Jalov. The opening ceremony took place in the military camp in the village of Siroko Polse and vice governor of a province Sabahatin Riza, the principal of “Protection of the Citizens” BM Kirço Pavlov, the specialists from the municipality and province of Kardzhali attended to the ceremony. Many speleologists from 30 cave clubs of the country took place at the festival. The president of the Kardzhali Rodopi Cave Club, M. Gumarov stated that “Last night some groups from Vratsa, Tırgovişte, Mezdra and Haskovo came to the camp in Siroko Pole. We are expecting about a hundred people to come here at the end of today”. During the four days-long festival, the participants are going to visit the Karangil Cave nearby Şiroko Pole, Inikeler cave nearby Stremtsi, The Mneakos castle, Trangardık Rock Cave and Perperikon.
The festival is organized by the Bulgaria Speleology Federation, the Kardzhali Rodopi Cave Club, the Municipality of Kardzhali and the provinence of Kardzhali for the 80th year of the speleology in Bulgaria.
Today, in the Kardzahli National Cave Festival the “Golden Bat” prize is given to the principal of “Protection of the Citiziens” BM, Kirço Pavlov, and “Silver Bat” prize is given to four Kardzhalian speleologists by the Bulgaria Speleology Federation.
the vice-president of the Municipality of Kardzhali, Elisaveta Kehayova, and the specialists of municipality management, Pervin Rıza and Todor Radev, were taken certificates from the Bulgaria Speleology Federation. Also, the speleologists of Mezdra and Vratsa gave cards to the participants of the festival.
