This morning, the second of the M-Tel Beach Masters tournament of the season at Spartak Sports Square. The tournament has been held for three years in Bulgaria and it is one of the most popular sport events of the country. Hence, the best beach volley players of the country attend to the tournament. The tournament has been organized by the support of the Municipality of Kardzhali.
The general manager Klaus Lukas stated at the opening ceremony that “the beach volley becomes popular and it is now an Olympic sport. This tournament in Kardzhali is very special since there are 20 teams in children category besides the 12 teams in men and 8 teams in women categories.”
Lukas also stated that the tournament in Kardzhali may be an international tournament in the future hence he hopes some of the Olympic players of the future will grow from this tournament.
Since the champions of the last two tournaments, Nikolay Nesev and Nikolay Kolev are from Kardzhali, the organizers decided to chose here where the M-Tel Beach Masters Beach Volley Tournament takes place this year. The half of the competitors is from Kardzhali. One of the technicians of the tournament and also one of the international referees, Toso Stoyanov, stated that the beach volley field at the Spartak Sports Square is the largest beach volley field.
The tournament is going to finish on Sunday. The organizers prepare many surprises to the spectators besides the wonderful matches of the competitors. The entrance is out of charge.
The first semi finals is going to start at 10:00 on Sunday and the final in women’s category will be at 15:30 and the final in men’s category will start at 16:30. The award ceremony is going to be at 17:30.
