This week School of Astronomy and Astrophysics camp began in the area of “Belite Brezi” near the Ardino. Students and experts from Sofia "Kliment Ohridski" University take place in the camp. The Manager of Kardzhali Astronomy Observation, Agop Uzunbohosyan, said these: “There will be guests from Turkey and France. It is gratifying that interest to our school has increased. This year not only the clubs from big cities like Sofia, Varna and Stara Zagora but also clubs from small cities want to participate to this camp. Within the program, conferences, seminars and watching the exciting events will take place. University lecturers and famous astronomy and astrophysics specialists will be giving lectures. On the 27th of July it is planned to meet with world-famous astronomy expert Prof. Dimitır Sıselov from Harvard University.”
Kardzhali Astronomy Observation is organized by the Club “Vega” and the Municipality and Kardzhali. Companies from Sofia and Kardzhali as well as the Bulgarians living outside the country have supported the program financially.
Young professionals will be able to watch track different objects with the latest technology and telescopes.
The history of the astronomy school starts in 1970 School when 30 young astronomy experts came to "Belite Brezi" with the leadership of Slavey Zlatev.
