The Mayor of Kardzhali Eng. Hasan Azis is included to the group of representatives from Bularia of the Committee of the Regions in Brussels in 2010-2014. The decision is made by the Council of Ministers yesterday. The Mayors of the cities Tvırditsa, Dobriç, Yanbol, Mineralni Bani, Lom, Montana, Tırgovişte, Ruse, Gotse Delçev will take place in the group in addition to Eng. Azis. The suggestions of the representatives of Bulgaria was prepared by the Board of Union of Municipalities of the Republic of Bulgaria.
This will not be the first time that Eng. Azis participates to the Committee of the Regions in Brussels as a representative. Since 2004, Mayor of Kardzhali is a member of the Commitee.
Committee of the Regions was established in 1994 in accordance with the EU Treaty. This committee is a counselig comitee that consists of representatives of regional administrations in Europe. AM district policy apllies to the Committee of the Regions before taking decisons on the issues as environment, culture, education and transportation that concerns administrations. Committee of the Regions performs five sessions each year in which general policies are determined.
